What Makes a Trained Leader

A leader is considered "Trained" when he or she has completed the three main trainings that make up the "Basic Leader Training" continuum: Youth Protection and Leader Specific Training. To find a complete list of all National BSA adult trainings, please visitwww.scouting.org/training/adult.aspx.

Cub Scout Leader

  • Youth Protection Training
  • Cub Scout Leader Specific

Cub Scout Committee Member

  • Youth Protection Training

Cub Scout Webelos Leader - Additional

  • Webelos Leader Outdoor Training (required for your Webelos Knot)

Cub Scout Camping - Additional

  • Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) (required if you take your Cub Pack family camping)
